An outlawed organization has purportedly devised plans for multiple terrorist attacks targeting Islamabad schools and universities, in Islamabad. Intelligence reports suggest that female suicide bombers were planning to carry out these attacks. Associated with the banned groups between January 22 and 24.

Responding to this grave threat, law enforcement officials have issued a statement affirming the robust security arrangements in the capital. However, authorities have advised cautionary measures for election rallies and public gatherings in the federal capital.

Earlier in 2021, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) declared a nationwide high-security alert due to a potential terrorist threat. Authorities have initiated intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Punjab as a preemptive measure.

The CTD Punjab released a statement citing the issuance of a high-security alert due to the credible terrorist threat. Security forces conducted IBOs in various districts across Punjab, resulting in 23 operations within the past seven days. These operations led to the interrogation of 23 suspects and the apprehension of two high-profile terrorists. Abdul Samad in Sialkot and Ikramullah Khan in Nankana Sahib.

These recent developments underscore the continuous efforts of law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of educational institutions and the general public.
